Gokals Ani Ltd., a digital lens manufacturer, has recently launched a new product, “eyekon” lens, which is custom-made to suit users’ specific needs and daily activities.
The thinner lenses are tailored to the person’s occupation, giving them a better vision for their daily activities. For example, if a person is a truck driver, the lens will have a broader section to accommodate their need for distance vision. On the other hand, if a person reads more, the lens will have a bigger reading section.
According to Ashish Gokaldas, the Business Manager of Ani Limited, these lenses are different from the occupational lenses the company produces for specific purposes. The “eyekon” lenses are made using software with artificial intelligence and robotics, which reduces the chances of error to less than one per cent by minimizing human interaction. The company could deliver its products promptly, and in the case of special high-index lenses, for example, it could deliver within 24 hours. The manufacturer, he said, could produce about 400 pairs of lenses a day.
