Aya, the platform that connects web3 African talents with job opportunities, has been selected for the Techstars Crypto Boston; January 2023 Class. The cohort comprises companies focused on sustainable blockchain technology that powers future economic models.
As part of the program, Aya will receive up to $120,000 in funding, mentoring, and support from the vast network of Techstars mentors, investors, alums, and corporate partners. The company will also have the opportunity to pitch to top web3-focused investors at the end of the program.
Founded by Eric Annan and Pishikeni Tukura in 2020, the platform employs a two-pronged approach to the challenges faced by individuals and businesses in talent management. The company provides training for individuals and a seamless process for companies to access these trained and vetted talents. In 2022, the company received grant funding from Coinbase Giving, the charitable program within Coinbase to train web3 talent in Africa. The Aya Web3 fellowship received over 4,000 applicants from 33 African nations.
Commenting on the feat, Eric Annan, CEO of Aya, said, “We are honoured to join the Techstars program. This feat is owed to the resilience and sacrifice of a dogged founding team who stood with us in the thick of things. I am grateful to work with such a talented team, this Techstars journey wouldn’t be without them, and this is just the beginning for us”. “We think Techstars will be an essential partner as we grow our business globally from Africa.”
