The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) has officially launched an Innovation and Incubation Hub (UGBS Nest) to foster and cultivate entrepreneurial ideas from students across the University.

In his welcoming speech, the Dean of the School, Professor Justice Bawole, emphasized the significance of the UGBS Nest, stating that it will allow students to practice the theories taught in the classroom. A boot camp to promote innovation and incubation among the school’s students is in the pipeline. In addition, plans are underway to establish a digital innovation hub to complement the existing brick-and-mortar facility.

The Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Development of the University, Professor Felix Ankomah Asante, praised UGBS for the project, noting that it comes at a time when the University has just passed an innovation act. He expressed his desire to see every school in the University have an innovation hub and highlighted that most great ideas and innovations started in an innovation hub.
