George Boateng and Victor Kumbol, the cofounders of the edtech company, Kwame AI, have been recognized on the 2023 Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list. George and Victor have been recognized for systemically and sustainably transforming education, business and beyond.

Kwame AI is democratizing science and technology education across Africa using smartphones. Since its January 2022 launch, they have run 12 monthly cohorts and 2,300 learners across 42 African and 110 countries globally. Alumni have landed coding internships and jobs at Microsoft and Google, and others are now studying computer science/engineering at top universities such as Yale, Dartmouth, MIT, and Columbia.

Named in honour of Dr Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first president, Kwame AI also serves as an AI-powered teaching assistant that enables students to ask questions about the West African Secondary School Examination (WASSCE) science subjects and get instant answers and relevant diagrams. In addition, Kwame AI provides the top 5 past WASSCE questions related to their question, the correct answer, an explanation for the answer, and which year it appeared.
