The Innovation for Policy Foundation (i4Policy) has appointed Belinda Baah as a co-director of the pan-African non-governmental organization that brings citizens, communities, and governments together to co-create the future.
As a co-director, Belinda will continue to lead the Foundation’s feminist innovation policy work and ensure all its activities have a gender lens. She will also lead HR-related activities across the Foundation, combining her passion for ensuring well-being is front and center for internal and external stakeholders.
As an economist, analyst, researcher, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) expert for over a decade, Belinda has supported several organizations in improving access to and usage of their services, particularly for marginalized groups.
She joined i4Policy in 2023 as the Entrepreneurship Policy Expert, and since then, she has trained and supported several stakeholders in innovation policy development. She trained Tanzanian and Zanzibar policymakers and ecosystem stakeholders in entrepreneurship and innovation policy development. She led the development of the African Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Index with the Allan Gray Centre for Africa Entrepreneurship at the School of Public Leadership, University of Stellenbosch, and Utrecht University to help policymakers govern the African entrepreneurial ecosystem. Belinda also led the Foundation’s feminist innovation policy work to help policymakers create inclusive, radical, and equitable policies for African women founders.
What is the mission of i4Policy?
The Innovation for Policy Foundation supports public policy co-creation at scale. The Foundation has pioneered new methodologies and tools for deliberative and participatory policymaking processes, which it uses to train governments and ecosystem leaders to co-create grassroots innovation policies.
