Naa Sika, the e-Micro Bank for the unbanked, has been chosen to participate in the prestigious Catapult Inclusion Africa Programme. This one-week bootcamp aims to empower startups driving financial innovation with a focus on environmental impact and inclusivity.
Organized by the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology, the program offers participants the chance to engage with industry leaders, investors, and founders within Luxembourg’s financial inclusion, fintech, and financial services ecosystem. Participants will also be integrated into the European Microfinance Week, providing valuable visibility and networking opportunities. The event culminates in a final-day pitch before an expert audience.
Naa Sika uses chatbots embedded in popular messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Facebook Messenger to extend financial services to the informal sector and youth. Through these chatbots, users can open accounts, access loans, purchase insurance, transfer funds, pay bills, and accept international payments. Leveraging natural language processing and machine learning, the chatbots interact naturally with users to enhance their financial experience.
Founded by Ralph Menz in 2018, Naa Sika aims to empower the youth and informal sector by providing accessible and tailored digital financial solutions.
