Wangara Green Ventures has announced the appointment of Thomas Wiredu as the Deputy Managing Director, effective January 2025. With his extensive experience in portfolio management and enterprise support, Thomas will play a crucial role in driving Wangara’s mission of supporting the growth of small and growing businesses (SGBs), particularly in the green sector.

Who is Thomas Wiredu?
Prior to joining Wangara Green Ventures, Thomas served as the Chief Executive Officer of Innohub Advisory, a renowned Enterprise Support Organisation based in Accra. He has a proven track record of managing business accelerator programs and investment portfolios that have positively impacted numerous businesses in Ghana.
Thomas has overseen high-growth ventures and accelerate business development within critical sectors of the economy, especially SGBs, makes him an asset to Wangara Green Ventures. His appointment strengthens the company’s leadership in investment management and supports its growing portfolio of ventures focused on creating long-term value for both investors and communities. He is certified by the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) and has completed the ANDE Investment Manager training program.

Wangara Green Ventures invests between $50,000 and $500,000 in small and growing businesses operating in renewable energy, waste and water management, climate-smart agriculture, and energy efficiency. To maximize its impact, the firm also offers pre-investment and post-investment technical assistance grants to help its portfolio companies scale and enhance their overall ESG performance.
Since its inception, Wangara Green Ventures has backed companies such as Akwaaba Feeds, an insect-protein feed producer; Wami Agro, a climate-smart grain and cereals aggregator; Kofa Technology, an electric vehicle battery-swapping network; and Sommalife, an agtech company connecting smallholder shea butter producers to international markets.
