The highly anticipated Future of Work 2.0 conference officially kicked off with a vibrant media soiree held at the ALX Hub at One Airport Square, Airport City. The event, hosted by BeTechConnected, gathered key players from academia, industry, and the media to engage in insightful discussions about the evolving world of work and how educational institutions can better align their curricula with industry demands.

Themed “Academia and Industry: The Variance Between the Current University Curriculum and the Demands of Industry,” the media soiree aimed to create awareness of the skills gap and the importance of preparing the youth for the future of work. Akosua Osei, Project Lead for Future of Work 2.0, emphasized the need for a mindset shift among young professionals to better prepare them for global tech roles.

“We believe that after training, one has to be nurtured. Training goes beyond the institution providing knowledge; individuals also play a role in shaping their career and global aspirations,” she stated.

The main event, scheduled for March 21-22, 2025, at R.S. Amegahsie Hall, University of Ghana Business School, will feature an impressive lineup of activities including:
Keynote Speeches – Insights from industry leaders and academic experts.
Innovation Stage – Showcasing cutting-edge technologies and solutions.
Micro-Future Talks – Short presentations on future-focused topics.
Hackathon – Collaborative problem-solving sessions for young tech enthusiasts
Panel Discussions – Thought-provoking discussions bridging academia and industry.
Product Showcase – Exhibits of innovative products and solutions.
