“Our Basecamps were not only milestones in promoting healthcare innovations but also significant steps toward launching COMESO and empowering access to healthcare in Ghana,” said Gloria Niiquaye, Co-Founder and CEO of COMESO.

The agenda included insightful presentations and discussions led by distinguished speakers, such as representatives from the West African Private Healthcare Federation, Dr. Lynda Decker; the Head of Remittance at Ecobank, Jacob Aboagye; the African Health Innovation Hub, Emily K. Sheldon; CNN Hero Award Winner, Osei Boateng; and a Senior Lecturer from the Department of Psychology at the University of Ghana, Dr. Johnny Andoh-Arthur. These sessions covered a wide range of topics, from revenue generation in healthcare to the challenges and opportunities in accessing healthcare in rural areas. The discussions emphasized the importance of purpose-driven healthcare payments, mental health awareness, and the role of strong community connections in making healthcare accessible.

The Basecamps are part of the commitment of the Western Union Foundation and the Watson Institute to promote innovative solutions in healthcare and support COMESO’s vision.

“We thank the Western Union Foundation and the Watson Institute for their ongoing support and mentorship. Together, we will shape the future of access to healthcare,” said Gloria Niiquaye.

COMESO continues its mission to strengthen access to healthcare services in Africa and drive positive change. The Basecamps mark a significant step on this journey, showcasing the power of collaboration and innovation for financial inclusion.

In addition, COMESO is representing the vibrant Ghana startup landscape, and has proudly kicked off its journey with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ).
