The cloud phone and messaging platform Rippledesk has been selected for the Baobab Accelerator. Having launched their accelerator in 2019, Baobab has consistently been one of the most active investors across Africa.

With a vision to streamline communication across Africa’s business landscape, Rippledesk helps corporates connect their phone numbers to call centres and customer service lines in just 5 minutes and offers Small and Medium Enterprises a consolidated communication system so they do not have to rely on personal phone lines and disjointed communication.

Founded by Lovell Larbie (Co-founder & CEO) and Christopher Tetteh ( Co-founder & CPO), the startup is poised to dominate the $5 billion internet and business phones market in Sub-Saharan Africa. With its selection for the Baobab Accelerator programme, Rippledesk is set to expand its market reach further and solidify its position as a leading communication platform in the region.

Baobab Accelerators’ deal

In 2023, Baobab Accelerator increased its investment in startups from $50,000 to $100,000 for 12.5% equity. This significant financial boost, coupled with two weeks of intensive consulting from the team and three months of hands-on support from venture partners or experts, provides companies with the resources and guidance they need to scale their operations and maximise their market potential. Another perk of the accelerator programme is that it is done virtually, so founders are not kept from their businesses for extended periods.
