Ebenezer Ghanney, Co-founder and CEO of WeWire, has been honoured as the Young Fintech Leader of the Year at the 2024 Ghana Fintech Awards. The ceremony, held at the Labadi Beach Hotel, celebrated individuals and organizations driving innovation and financial inclusion in Ghana’s fintech landscape.

Ghanney emerged victorious in a highly competitive category, surpassing notable nominees such as Cassandra Kwatia (Clozer Group), Clinton Mbah. (Accrue), Edem Quintin Dzorkpata (CalBank), Gloria Niiquaye (COMESO), Kingsley Mensah (Speso), Kwadwo Owusu-Agyeman (Paystack Ghana), Maame Abrema Quarm (Ladder), Mubarak Sumaila (NylaBank), and Restus Numadzi (Built Financial Technologies).

Under his leadership, the company has experienced exponential growth, particularly in cross-border payment solutions. Founded in April 2022, WeWire is addressing the pressing need for efficient international payment systems for businesses facing challenges with existing solutions. By 2023, they reported an all-time high of $1.1 billion in transactions processed across 80+ countries.
