The Association of Ghana Startups has launched the 2025 edition of its flagship event, Ghana Startup Week, with a renewed mission to position Ghanaian startups as the driving force of the country’s 24-Hour Economy. The three-day festival, scheduled for November 6 to 8, will celebrate the innovation and entrepreneurial energy shaping Ghana’s future. Supported by Mojo Payments Ltd, the event will highlight the role of startups in creating jobs, driving productivity, and fueling economic transformation.
This year’s theme, Fueling Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy: Startups as Catalysts, sets the tone for a vibrant programme of keynote speeches, policy dialogues, pitching competitions, exhibitions, investor matchmaking and the Ghana Innovation and Startup Awards 2025. Central to the conversations will be the Ghana Innovation and Startup Bill and the country’s five-year National Startup Development Strategy, both designed to build a stronger foundation for the ecosystem.
At the launch, Solomon Adjei, President of the Association of Ghana Startups, described Ghana Startup Week as more than a gathering, calling it a movement to place startups at the heart of national development. “By empowering startups and connecting them to global opportunities, we are ensuring that Ghanaian founders can compete internationally while creating jobs locally. Startups will serve as the anchor of Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy,” he said.
Dorcas Amoah Lartey, Marketing Manager of Mojo Payments Ltd, said her company was excited to partner with Ghana Startup Week because fintech and startups are at the heart of Ghana’s entrepreneurial landscape. “Startups like ours are not only solving today’s problems but laying the foundation for Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy. Supporting this movement is about empowering innovation to thrive and create real impact,” she said.
Ecosystem partners including the Ministry of Youth and Empowerment and the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme, IoT Network Hub, Texonnect, African Technical Apprenticeship Network and the National Youth Authority pledged their support, stressing the importance of collaboration to scale Ghanaian startups and attract global investment.
With a mix of policy dialogue, global investor engagement and innovation showcases, the Ghana Startup Week 2025 is set to reaffirm the role of Ghanaian startups as the anchors of the 24-Hour Economy and as key players in Africa’s innovation landscape.
