Maijid Moujaled, the co-founder and President of the unicorn fintech company Chipper Cash have been recognized on the inaugural Founding 50 List compiled by Black Business Ventures Association. The list recognizes the top Black founders who have significantly impacted their respective industries and paved the way for future generations of Black technologists and entrepreneurs.

Having been in the tech sector for more than ten years, including his schooling days, Maijid set out with his co-founder, Ham Serunjogi, in 2018 to solve the challenges in cross-border money transfer within Africa. Chipper Cash offers free peer-to-peer cross-border transactions across 7 African countries: Uganda, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Nigeria, and South Africa. The platform also enables businesses to process online and in-store payments through the company’s merchant-focused product, Chipper Checkout. Chipper Checkout is a fee-based consumer-to-business product that helps the company to generate revenue.
