Treepz, the shared mobility platform for buses, announced the appointment of Isidore Kpotufe as its Chief Marketing Officer as it expands to Kenya. Kpotufe, who brings extensive experience in growth and marketing, is leading the company’s growth efforts for its new online platform, designed to serve both consumers and businesses.
Isidore Kpotufe, until recently, was the founder of stabus, which Treepz acquired to enter the Ghana market. After the exit, he joined Treepz as Ghana’s Country Manager.
In 2022, Treepz hit the 1m bookings milestone across three African countries. The expansion extends the companies reach to Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda and Kenya. Treepz says it raised $1.2 million in the last 12 months, enabling it to finance its expansion into Kenya. Investors include GIIG Africa Fund, MoAngels, Roselake VC, Unpopular VC, Goodwater Capital and BKR Capital. As well as follow on investments from former investors, including ShockVentures, Winston Limited led by the Lynch Brothers, Aston Investments and Novum Actus.
The company has hired Samar Patel as its new Country Manager for Treepz Kenya. Patel was Head of Transport-as-a-Service and Software-as-a-Service at Swvl, the Dubai-based mobility company.
